Obesity in America ...is it associated with the fast food?
75Is this you?
Obesity information:
- Obesity USA
The most common causes of obesity are poor diet (to much junk food) bad eating habits, the typical western diet and the lack of enough exercise to burn off those excess calories. Those excess calories,... - Obesity in America ...could it be processed foods?
For the past 25 to 30 years, children and adults have been putting on more and more weight. As we have said before, a calorie is a calorie is a calorie. There are 3500 calories in a pound. If we consume... - Obesity and Overweight for Professionals: Data and Statistics: U.S. Obesity Trends | DNPAO | CDC
We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again just for the record …“Americans are putting on more weight and getting fatter every year.”When
you read the statistics, the experts are saying that one in five
Americans are overweight …which equals out to be about 30% of
Americans, all above the ideal weight. Some are blaming the fast food
industry for the pandemic of obesity.
As the fast food industry fights for customer loyalty and retention…
…over
the years the menus have become larger and larger to entice customers
to become loyal and repeat customers…getting their monies worth...and
even all of the major fast food chains have entered the arena of the
biggie size and the super size as well. Many busy families often take
advantage of the quick fast food take-out drive-through opportunities
to feed their families. Take notice of the drive-through windows about
dinner time and you’ll see this with your own eyes …lunch time and
dinner time are the busy times. Not to mention that low income
families often take advantage of the lower prices of the fast food over
the more healthier food choices of the supermarkets.
For the past 10-15 years…
…fast
food has, in one way or another, been the topic in the news …either
because of the unhealthy ingredients, such as trans fats, super size or
the number of calories in the food. The question always comes up …“does the fast food cause the obesity in America?”
Some say no …and on the other hand some say yes! Indirectly, the yes group, states it does indirectly, because eating the fast food diet
on a regular basis can cause obesity. But on the other hand, the no
group, states that fast food does not cause obesity. They say it’s the
amount of calories that one consumes that causes the obesity problem.
They say, consuming more calories than the body can burn is what
causes the weight gain and obesity in America.
The
amount of food, serving size, and the high calorie content of the food
served at the fast food restaurants can lead to weight gain and obesity
over the long run. Research has shown that fast food still has
unacceptable levels of the unhealthy trans fats...and these trans fats
have shown to have dramatic effects on the body and could possibly
contribute to weight gain, abdominal fat, type 2 diabetes and heart
disease.
We’ve said it before…
…“a calorie is a calorie is a calorie”
…for those interested in the cause of obesity in America and fast
food....they can make the right choices simply by educating themselves
about calorie intake and how calorie intake affects weight gain.
Most
experts agree that with all the information out there about eating
right and making the right choices to achieve weight loss …your weight loss program should
include a healthy eating plan. Your plan should also include eating
low calorie foods such as a lot of fruits, vegetables, lean meat,
poultry and fresh water fish …along with the fact that it is
recommended to include regular physical activity to promote a slow and
steady weight loss plan.
Educate yourself…
…take
the time to get the facts about weight loss programs, physical exercise
and supplementation to help you reach your weight loss goals.
As for supplementation…
…we
always suggest an appetite suppressant product, an energy product and a
properly stabilized organic Aloe Vera product as helpful aids to your
weight management program. Make sure your choice of Aloe Vera is “the best tasting aloe vera” and of course...know your supplier!

All of the above is true!
No, I don't believe that. I think many of us eat too much of the wrong foods, not even necessarily fast food, people eat from stress, to comfort themselves and don't exercise enough.
yes as you mentioned fast food is part of the problem as well as television and video games which do not require any type of physical activity, then there is the over consumption of soda pop and sweets such as candy bars and snack foods. peer pressure and those setting the wrong example for the youth have them gaining more weight at a younger age each year.
Hey jgcody....say it again..loud and clear.
A calorie is a calorie is a calorie...when it comes down to it...it's all about calorie intake...and calories burned.....thank you for the Hub.
